I hope this
will give you an idea of the work I do, how I achieve it and why I do it.
When younger I travelled extensively and lived in various countries
including the Middle East and Mediterranean but have returned to Devon and
now work from my home studio here.
I have used
glass and other mediums for over 25 years and have a keen interest in the
world about me, in nature and the environment being both influenced and
inspired by the different cultures, architecture and artisans, to name two:
Antonio Gaudi of Barcelona and César Manrique of Lanzarote, from the
countries I have visited.
This energy
is reflected in my work creating mirrors, panels, lamps and now pieces of
furniture blending a combination of colours and textures and as much
reclaimed material as possible, stained glass, mirror, crockery, jewellery
and ceramic tiles, and provides me with endless opportunities to create
individual pieces of work so that each is unique in colour, shape and size
and holds its own individual character. I now run a number of
different courses and workshops in Devon and Cornwall to pass on this
colourful and uplifting skill which brings with it a very real sense of
satisfaction and achievement, having created a beautiful piece of work while
helping to protect the natural beauty that surrounds us.
